Responsibilities as the Psychologist:
- Psychotherapy & Assessments: Conduct psychiatric intakes, assessments, and evaluations for inmate patients, and provide individual and group psychotherapy.
- Diagnosis & Treatment: Diagnose and treat mental illnesses, conduct psychological assessments, and provide crisis intervention.
- Collaboration: Work closely with mental health and medical staff, contributing to behavioral health program development.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of all care provided.
- Patient Interaction: Promote a therapeutic environment and communicate effectively with patients and their families.
- Education: Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Current, unrestricted license to practice psychology in NJ.
- Certifications: Active CPR certification required.
- Experience: Knowledge of mental health delivery systems and psychological evaluation techniques.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, assessment, and interpersonal communication skills.
