Job Overview – Director of Psychiatry:
Join our client's team in Bronx, NY, as the Director of Psychiatry. This leadership role involves overseeing psychiatric operations, conducting evaluations, managing patients, and providing consultations and education to clinical staff. You will split your time between clinical duties and administrative tasks, working closely with the VP of Behavioral Health.

Compensation: $257,000 – $273,000/year
Location: Bronx, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday


Responsibilities as the Director of Psychiatry:
  • Clinical Evaluations & Crisis Intervention: Conduct psychiatric evaluations, manage patient care, and provide emergency interventions for walk-in patients in crisis.
  • Medical History Review: Review and update medical history data.
  • Supervision & Consultation: Supervise Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, provide peer reviews, and offer clinical consultations to providers across various areas.
  • Liaison Duties: Ensure continuity of care by serving as a liaison with referral hospitals and Health Homes programs.
  • Policy & Administrative Oversight: Review and update medical policies related to behavioral health, coordinate program needs, oversee quality, and liaise with the VP of Behavioral Health.
  • Ethics Committee & Service Facilitation: Chair the Ethics Committee, facilitate related services for patients and staff, ensuring confidentiality and privacy.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with performance evaluations, employee health services, and new employee orientation.
Qualifications for the Director of Psychiatry:
  • Licensing: Current New York City license to practice Medicine and Psychiatry.
  • Education: Medical degree from an approved Medical School with completed residency training.
  • Experience: 5+ years post-training clinical experience (medical leadership experience preferred).
  • Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact with diverse backgrounds.
  • Hospital Privileges: Ability to obtain hospital admitting privileges.
