Vitruvian Health Care System (formerly known as Hamilton Health Care System) and Bradley Medical Center are recruiting a Behavioral Health Medical Director. Our goal is to have a full range of psychiatric and behavioral health services available in the communities of Dalton and Cleveland.

Qualified candidates:

  • Board Certified in Psychiatry with 3 or more years of experience preferred.
  • Has a vision to grow and develop services to align with community needs and improve lives.

  • Commitment to quality, patient safety and overall excellence in evidence based clinical care.

Position Highlights:

  • The daily regimen includes group sessions, psychiatric sessions, individual/family therapy, case management, and discharge planning sessions.
  • Individual treatment plans are initiated on admission by nursing with input from other disciplines.
  • Programming at Bradley Medical Center Behavioral Health is provided 7 days a week and includes acute, active treatment with a multidisciplinary treatment team consisting of psychiatry, internal medicine, registered nursing, master’s prepared therapists and recreational therapy.
  • Each patient's needs are assessed during their first 72 hours of admission through various assessments.
  • Evidence-based therapy modalities used may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Art Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and others.
  • Chaplain services and pet therapy are also available.

Department Overview:

  • 21-bed inpatient psychiatric unit for patients 18 years and older with a primary mental health diagnosis.
  • Treatment team meetings occur three times each week with additional meetings as needed.
  • Discharge planning is an integral part of each discipline's assessments.
  • The treatment team consists of psychiatry, internal medicine, registered nursing, master's prepared therapists, and recreational therapy.
  • The program uses a milieu model of patient engagement with a trauma-informed culture.
  • Tremendous opportunity for growth within the practice, where you will be supported by a strong and collaborative team with an excellent work culture & collegiality amongst providers and staff.
  • Plans include opening an adult Intensive Outpatient Therapy program with a Mental Health track and adding a Chemical Dependency track in 2025.
  • Anticipating offering Geriatric and Substance Abuse tracks in the future and expanding outpatient services.
  • Development of an Inpatient Acute Care Unit for Children and Adolescents is part of a 5-year plan.
