Summary:
The Correctional Psychiatrist assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients within a correctional facility under the supervision of the Chief Psychiatrist. Responsibilities include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, crisis intervention, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. New licensed Psychiatrists are welcome!!!!
Responsibilities:
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of inmates.
Diagnose mental health disorders and develop treatment plans.
Provide medication management and prescribe appropriate psychotropic medications.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
Respond to psychiatric emergencies and crises within the facility.
Document patient encounters and maintain accurate medical records.
Participate in treatment planning meetings and case conferences.
Provide education and support to staff regarding mental health issues and treatment options.
Adhere to all policies, procedures, and standards of care within the correctional facility.
Qualifications:
Medical degree (MD or DO) and board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
Strong clinical skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting.
Experience in correctional or forensic psychiatry preferred.
New licensed Psychiatrists are welcome!!!!
Additional Details:
Full-time or Part-time positions are available
Full time - Flexible 8 or 10 hours daily, Mon-Fri.
Part time - 3 days per week, Any days, 10 hours, Mon-Fri.
Compliance with facility regulations and security protocols.
Training and professional development provided.
Pay is flexible 210-215+ depending on experience
