**Psychiatry Regional Medical Director opening - Bristol, TN** Located on the VA/TN border - 23m to Kingsport, 55m to Boone, NC **Position Details** - Full-time, permanent - Employed - Freestanding 28-bed adult psychiatric unit, is located minutes from Regional Medical Center, provides inpatient psychiatric services to communities in both Southwestern Virginia and Northeast Tennessee. - In additional to daily treatment responsibilities Regional Medical Director will provide physician leadership for the Regions Psychiatry team, including 3-4 staff Psychiatrists and 7-8 Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. - Working alongside this team, the Regional Medical Director will work with the Behavioral Health Service Line leadership to optimize quality and operations across the 3 units (58 beds) and robust consult-liaison service that provides inpatient psychiatric services throughout the Group's footprint. - This leadership position requires an enthusiastic, motivated individual who is constantly striving to improve processes. - The appropriate candidate will have the ability to develop camaraderie with multiple teams, excellent communication skills and the ability to envision, as well as produce, change with a focus on innovating care to be more patient-centered and to meet the changing needs of an ever-evolving healthcare landscape. **Schedule:** - Weekdays: MONDAY - FRIDAY (8 HOUR DAYS) - CALL: 1-in-6 (Regional Call Model) - Weekends: 1 Weekend Per Month of on-site rounding **Practice Details:** - Accommodates twenty-eight patients and contains a large multi-purpose treatment room, a group therapy room, a recreational therapy room, a kitchen, laundry room, offices and work area. The Center provides a wide range of therapeutic modalities to its patients, including: - Daily rounds by the Psychiatry Team including 1 Psychiatrist and 1 Psychiatric Advanced Practitioner - Daily therapeutic services lead by licensed therapists and counselors including: - Individual psychotherapy - Group psychotherapy - On-Site Case Management and Utilization Review - Recreational activities - Pharmacology - Family therapy - On-Site Court - Educational services **Facility Details** - Designed to provide short-term stabilization and treatment for adults whose treatment needs mandate an inpatient stabilization and treatment. - The units goal is to return patients to a level of acuity in which comprehensive outpatient care can continue to improve the quality of life for the patient. - Busy unit, accepting referrals and admissions 24-hours-a-day, 365 days per year. - Most referrals come through the many Community Service Boards (CSBs) throughout the state of Virginia, and their Mandatory Screeners assess patients during psychiatric crisis. - The unit also accepts voluntary admissions from Regional Medical Center, a tertiary care center located just across the state line in Bristol, Tennessee. - In order to promote successful reintegration back into the community, family members, local CSBs and/or the court systems work with the Ridgeview Pavilion team during the treatment and discharge process to ensure smooth transitions back into the patients communities. **About the Regional Medical Center** - 312-bed hospital and Level II Trauma Center that serves Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. - Home to leading-edge medical technology, such as stereotactic radiosurgery with TrueBeam STx with Brainlab, multidimensional cardiac catheterization laboratories and surgical robotics, including single-site surgery.
