This Medical Center is seeking a General Psychiatrist for a full-time position in the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry. The opportunity is located in the capital city of WV. The successful candidate will provide care of patients on our 18 bed adult inpatient psychiatry unit. All patients are assigned to a resident, so resident teaching and supervision along with teaching and supervision of medical students on their psychiatry clerkship is required. The schedule will be a 7 days on /7 days off schedule with coverage of the unit shared with one other faculty psychiatrist.
Job Requirements by the time of appointment are:
- MD, DO degree or foreign equivalent degree from an accredited program
- Board certification or board eligibility by the American Board of Psychiatry
- Possess aptitude and passion for educating residents and medical students
- Willingness to participate in appropriate academic, clinical research or other scholarly activity as may be required of clinical faculty
- Eligible for WV Medical License
