**Psychiatry opening in Defiance, Ohio**
~ Located 50m to Toledo, 45m to Fort Wayne, IN
**Position Details**

- Small critical-access hospital in Northwest Ohio
- 10 inpatient Psychiatric beds
- Inpatient and Outpatient mix
- The average length of stay for inpatients is 3-4 days
**Behavioral Health Practice offers:**
- Outpatient New Evaluations-1 hr.
- Outpatient Medication Management visits- 30 min
- Neuropsych evals./med management
- Office hours are M-Friday, with patient hours being 8:30-5p
- Cross cover with Inpatient weekend on call- Friday 5p-Monday 8a (usually 1 weekend a month)
- Cross cover of weekly inpatient call and hospital consults
- PHP- program is currently being re-evaluated with potential move to IOP program
- Outpatient therapy- children through geriatrics
- The practice model for the inpatient unit is set up according to state rules.
- Psychiatrists are responsible for completing a psychiatric evaluation within 24 hours of admission and managing psychiatric medications.
- Rounds must be completed every 24 hours for inpatients.
- Programs for inpatients are scheduled in order to help patients gain further coping skills. Groups are facilitated by Social Service, Recreational Therapists, Psychologist, or Nursing.
- The treatment team consists of Psychiatrists, Nursing, Social Service, and Recreational Therapists.
