**Job Description:**_x000D_
The Podiatrist will provide direct patient care, which includes:_x000D_
_x000D_
- Conducting comprehensive medical and social histories._x000D_
- Performing thorough physical examinations._x000D_
- Ordering and interpreting laboratory and screening tests._x000D_
- Evaluating lab reports, x-rays, and consultation records, and communicating treatment plans to patients._x000D_
- Making independent decisions on patient management, prescribing medications, and performing therapeutic or corrective measures._x000D_
- Providing health maintenance, promotion, illness prevention, and illness management counseling._x000D_
- Making appropriate referrals to specialists and consulting with other healthcare team members as needed._x000D_
- Complying with infection control and safety procedures._x000D_
- Accurately documenting patient notes in the electronic medical records system._x000D_
- Performing job activities respectfully and courteously while interacting with patients, visitors, and coworkers._x000D_
- Performing other duties as delegated._x000D_

**Position Requirements:**_x000D_

- **Qualifications:** _x000D_
- Medical degree appropriate to the specialty from an accredited medical college or university._x000D_
- Successful completion of internship and residency programs._x000D_
- State of South Carolina license to practice medicine._x000D_
- Federal DEA license and South Carolina Controlled Substance license._x000D_
- Must meet credentialing and privileging requirements of FHC._x000D_
