A beautiful 300+ bed Children’s Hospital, with a 14 bed CARF accredited pediatric rehab unit, is looking for a Pediatric Physiatrist to join the team as Medical Director to continue to grow their very successful program. We need a very upbeat person who truly loves working with kids, and easily fits in with a fun and great clinical crew! Either a fellowship or double boards is required for this extremely cohesive unit – nearly 20 years serving our kids! The new Medical Director will be responsible for overseeing and leading the medical and rehabilitative care provided to children with disabilities or chronic conditions. They will coordinate and supervise a team of healthcare professionals, develop treatment plans, and ensure that comprehensive, interdisciplinary care is delivered to optimize the physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being of the children they serve. You will be able to design your practice within our wide range of clinics including general rehabilitation, brain injury, SCI, burns, polytrauma, cancer rehab, as well as working with an adaptive sports program (adaptive waterskiing, kayaking, powered soccer and basketball). We can make your ideal practice come true, whether IP or OP or a combination of both; you’ll be able to focus on your areas of interest. An academic appointment is available with the University of California, plus we have a general pediatric residency on site. In support, there are very effective hospitalists, as well as a neuropsychology program, to name a few. A very attractive compensation package is in place. The benefits are tough to compete with, as it’s in the top 3 largest children’s hospital in California, and the top 10 in the US. The hospital allows up to 7 days leave without using PTO to do volunteer work in the community or other country! Benefits are also second to none, including health, dental, malpractice, disability insurance, retirement planning, and more! The location is central to many fantastic areas: you’re close to several major metro areas and national parks and more. It’s a great place to be for those of you that love weekend trips. In addition to being close to the coastal attractions, the nearby mountain communities are some of the best in the country as well. You truly do have access to it all.
