Position Overview:
We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician to provide full-time coverage. This role includes day coverage and occasional night call. The physician will provide inpatient rehabilitation care for patients with brain injuries, strokes, spinal cord injuries, orthopedic injuries, myopathies, and cardiac patients.
Responsibilities:
- Rounding on inpatient rehab patients (up to 20 per day)
- Completing inpatient consults (4-5 per day)
- Admissions (2-3 per day)
- Provide telephone and beeper call coverage from 4:30 PM - 8:00 AM, including weekend rounding
- Work in tandem with unit coverage for call duties
Schedule:
- Regular Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Call Coverage: Includes night call Monday - Friday (4:30 PM - 8:00 AM) and daytime rounding on weekends
- Estimated Shifts/Month: 14
- Additional Requirements: Be available for call coverage on scheduled weeks
Requirements:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
- State License: Pennsylvania (must obtain if not already licensed)
- Certifications: BLS, DEA required
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of PM&R experience
- Call: Willingness to cover night call and weekend rounds
Travel & Lodging:
- Travel covered (mileage, airfare, lodging, parking, rental car, and fuel)
- Special rates available at Residence Inn in Williamsport
- Lodging capped at $150 per night before taxes
- Airfare: Economy seating, 1 checked bag
Workload:
- Inpatient: Up to 20 patients per day
- Admissions: 2-3 per day
- Consults: 4-5 per day
Additional Information:
- Privileges: Full privileges or temp privileges available
- Days to Privilege: Approximately 60 days
- Shift Schedule: Flexible to accommodate required coverage
