Job Summary:

HCA Healthcare is seeking to recruit an experienced PM&R physician for a medical director opportunity in the city of Corpus Christi. This is a medical director opportunity for a newly recruited physician to oversee a 15 bed in-patient unit. Outpatient work is a possibility if the new recruit wishes to operate a clinic in addition to the main responsibilities to the rehab unit.

About the Opportunity:
  • The physician recruit must have at least 2 years of experience in a rehab unit.
  • Current census of the rehab unit is currently between 12 - 13 patients of the 15 bed unit.
  • The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, bedside manner, and be an interdisciplinary team player.
  • The Medical Director's primary function is to serve as the liaison officer between administration and the medical staff.
  • Duties include the weekly participation in the ongoing development and management of a master care plan for all patients which covers medical care, including a plan for discharge.
  • Provide hospital representation for the facility in the community, not limited to providing educational presentations and serving on community boards.
  • Assist with providing in-service training for other physicians, rehabilitation staff, other identified hospital staff, rehab patients, and families.
