PM&R Inpatient Medical Director opening in Augusta, ME

**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Physiatrist with experience or a strong interest in Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation to serve as the Medical Director of our Inpatient Physiatry team. This role offers the chance to lead and develop our program while providing high-quality care in a state-of-the-art facility.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Leadership:** Serve as Medical Director for the Inpatient Physiatry program, with opportunities to contribute to program development and quality improvement.
- **Patient Care:** Provide care in a 12-bed, private-room Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, treating conditions such as stroke, neurological disorders, hip fractures, amputation, spinal cord injury, deconditioning, multi-trauma, and brain injury.
- **Team Collaboration:** Join a team of 3 Physiatrists and 4 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), supported by a dedicated nursing team.
- **Call Schedule:** Weekend call by phone (1 in 4), with occasional on-site responsibilities for admissions or emergencies. Collaborate with a high-quality hospitalist team.
- **Education:** Opportunity to provide education for medical students and residents.
**Practice Environment:**
- **Technology:** Utilize Dragon software for dictation, with access to a broad range of diagnostic services and an onsite ultrasound.
- **Facilities:** Work in an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital with Joint Commission Certification and Stroke Rehabilitation Certification.
- **Outpatient Clinic:** Opportunity for outpatient follow-ups and procedures, averaging two half-days per week. Potential to perform EMGs.
**Qualifications:**
- **Certifications:** Board-certified or board-eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
- **Experience:** Inpatient Physiatry experience preferred; a special interest in neurological rehabilitation is a plus.
- **Skills:** Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered commitment to excellence.
