Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm with 1 hour lunch break +1 weekend day permonth 9am to 5pm with an hour lunch (There is flexibility with hours)

Seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Medical Director to join our Quality Assurance team, focusing on laboratory oversight and compliance. In this role, the Medical Director will oversee and review the efforts of the Clinical Manager, who maintains and runs the lab operations, ensuring adherence to CLIA certification requirements and regulatory standards. Additionally, the Medical Director will participate in Quality Assurance meetings to collaborate with other providers on advancing care practices and improving outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Laboratory Oversight and Compliance:
o Review and oversee the Clinical Managers efforts in maintaining laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with CLIA standards and other regulatory requirements.
o Conduct regular reviews of lab maintenance, documentation, and quality control processes at all locations.
o Identify potential areas for improvement and provide guidance to ensure regulatory compliance and optimal lab performance.
CLIA Certification and Renewal:
o Collaborate with the Clinical Manager to lead and support efforts for CLIA certification renewals.
o Approve and review policies, procedures, and protocols related to lab operations to ensure compliance.
Quality Assurance Collaboration:
o Dedicate 2-3 days per quarter to attend Quality Assurance team meetings.
o Collaborate with other providers to discuss advancements in care, share insights, and develop quality improvement strategies.
o Analyze lab-related quality metrics and contribute to improving patient outcomes and care practices.
Collaboration and Training:
o Serve as a resource for the Clinical Manager and lab staff, providing support, oversight, and mentorship as needed.
o Ensure staff are trained and up-to-date on best practices and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
MD, DO, or equivalent degree with an active medical license.
Familiarity with CLIA certification processes and regulatory standards for laboratory operations.
Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail in compliance oversight.
Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, with the ability to work across teams.
Experience in quality assurance, lab oversight, or related roles is a plus.
Work Environment:
This role offers a balance of administrative and clinical responsibilities. The Medical Director will dedicate time away from floor duties"approximately 2-3 days per quarter"to focus on Quality Assurance meetings and oversight of lab operations in collaboration with the Clinical Manager.
