VHS is looking for a qualified Physician - Pediatrics.

- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8.5-hour shifts (including an uncompensated 30-minute meal break), between 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- On Call: The contractor shall provide on-call services weekdays, weekends, and the day of observance of Federal holidays. On Call is typically for 24 hours each day for 1 week, starting Thursday. On Call service is defined as carrying an electronic paging or mobile device while not on-site and responding to calls from the Naval Hospital by telephone within 15 minutes to provide clinical consultation. The Government will not be providing the electronic device to be used for on-call service. It is the contractor’s responsibility to ensure that the Pediatrician has a reliable method of communication while on on-call. On-call schedule will be provided to the Contractor after task order award and shall be provided at least four weeks in advance thereafter. The Contractor shall submit a completed schedule to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) two weeks before services are scheduled to start. The schedule shall be complete and include the name and contact number of the specific individual(s) who will provide the required on-call coverage. A minimum 72-hour notice of changes to the work schedule is required. The 72-hour notice shall be waived for emergency situations such as sudden illness or accident. NOTE: Pediatrician will be on call 5-7 days per month
Requirements:
- Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from an accredited medical school in the U.S. or Canada.
- Internship/Residency: Successful completion of an accredited internship and residency program in Pediatrics.
- Experience: Clinical competency within the past two years in Pediatrics, with at least 32 hours of patient treatment within the specialty in the last 24 months.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Licensure: Active, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine as a Pediatrician.
- Board Certification: American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
- Continuing Medical Education (CME): Documentation required within one month of CME-accredited events.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform a full range of physician services as per privileges granted by the Medical Treatment Facility.
- Provide preventive care, health maintenance, and annual physicals, including patient education and counseling.
- Diagnose, treat, and prescribe within your scope of training and privileges.
- Order diagnostic tests and refer patients as necessary.
- Teach and mentor medical staff and provide in-service training and educational lectures adhering to clinical protocols and standards.
