Job Summary

The Pediatric Gastroenterology Division of the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital at Geisinger Medical Center has an opening for an 7th full-time Pediatric Gastroenterologist. Our extremely collegial and congenial group is committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to the children of central and northeast Pennsylvania. The Janet Weis Children’s Hospital is the tertiary care Pediatric Center for Geisinger Health System. Nationally recognized for its innovative approaches to health care, Janet Weis Children’s Hospital is one of only five ImproveCareNow centers in Pennsylvania. In addition to a challenging and enjoyable clinical role, the successful candidate will also be actively engaged in the teaching of pediatric residents and medical students. Opportunities for research also exist. Geisinger has an exciting intellectual environment highlighted by the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine in Scranton, PA. The medical school is a leader in innovative education, with a curriculum emphasizing active learning, longitudinal clinical experiences, and community engagement.

Job Duties

  • Schedule: M-F, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Pediatric GI Hospitalist provides 24 weeks call coverage annually

  • Balance of annual call shared equally by 6 physician call group

  • 3 APP’s assist with management of Epic In Basket

  • AI dictation

  • Telemedicine available

  • 41 bed NICU

  • 14 bed PICU

  • Pediatric psychologist, nutritional support

  • Affiliation with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
