Psychiatrist - Inpatient Child & Adolescent - Mansfield, CT (Permanent)
Location: Mansfield, Connecticut
Schedule: Full-time, with rotational coverage including day time hours, nights, weekends, vacations, and holidays.
Requirements: Board Eligible/Board Certified in Psychiatry, with a focus on Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
About the Position:
Direct Patient Care: Provide comprehensive patient services in an inpatient setting, including diagnostic admission evaluations, psychotherapy, and pharmacotherapy.
Multi-Disciplinary Team Collaboration: Work within a multi-disciplinary treatment team, potentially acting as a clinical team leader for care coordination and supervision across clinical disciplines. Lead quality improvement projects and minimize the use of restraint and seclusion.
Documentation: Complete timely documentation of assessments, clinical interventions, and discharge summaries, ensuring records meet regulatory and medical staff requirements.
Risk Management: Monitor risk indicators, addressing risk management issues to ensure the safety of clients, staff, and visitors. Act as a resource for the treatment team and consult with peers as needed.
Safe Prescribing Practices: Adhere to evidence-based prescribing practices, ensuring informed consent for medication trials is obtained prior to prescribing.
Liaison Role: Effectively communicate with outside providers, primary care physicians, schools, and family members as needed.
Educational and Supervisory Roles:
Supervision: Provide supervision to selected medical students, residents, and non-physician health professionals.
Medical Staff Participation: Participate in Medical Staff Committees and meetings as specified in medical staff regulations.
