The SSM Health/SLUCare Academic Medical Center is seeking a highly qualified and passionate general pediatrician to join our General Academic Pediatric Division. This position offers an exciting opportunity to provide care to infants, children, and adolescents from birth to 21 years, contributing to their overall health and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience in general pediatrics, along with a commitment to academic excellence and patient-centered care. Additional interest and expertise in the care of refugee and immigrant children is desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive medical care to patients, including preventive services, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions.
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of patients.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including pediatricians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure holistic care for patients.
- Educate patients and their families about pediatric health issues, preventive measures, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Participate in research activities, including clinical trials and scholarly projects, to advance knowledge in the field of general pediatrics.
- Contribute to the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows through didactic lectures, mentorship, and clinical supervision.
- Stay current with advancements in pediatric medicine by attending conferences, seminars, and continuing medical education programs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the delivery of pediatric healthcare services.
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of clinical care, education, and research.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification or eligibility in General Pediatrics.
- Active medical license and DEA registration.
- Completion of residency training in Pediatrics or Internal Medicine-Pediatrics.
- Proven experience providing clinical care to pediatric patients.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with adolescents and their families.
- Commitment to academic excellence and scholarly activities, including research and teaching.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Dedication to upholding ethical standards and professionalism in all interactions.
- Demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to the unique needs and challenges faced by patients and their families from diverse backgrounds.
