LAUSD School-based Telehealth Program SY 2024-2025

Inspire Medical Group is currently seeking to hire several enthusiastic and engaging Physicians for a unique, all remote-work opportunity serving a high volume of patients in an exciting program delivering school-based tele-healthcare to students in the Los Angeles Unified School District. This program completed a successful pilot program during the previous school year and is now expanding to serve the thousands of students enrolled in this second largest school district in the country! School health experience or telehealth experience in child and adolescent care is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work remotely to conduct virtual assessments of students seeking walk-in, low acuity care from their school health nurse who in turn seeks your assessment and diagnosis of common pediatric complaints.
  • Utilize your keen observation skills, strong listening skills, clinical acumen, experience and training to deliver high quality, ‘outpatient’ urgent care services, using evidence-based medicine and decision making skills
  • Recommend and facilitate administration of over-the-counter medications to support symptom relief for students and to promote return to class where appropriate
  • Provide appropriate prescriptions medications with proper dosage and administration instructions
  • Work within a proprietary telehealth technology platform and maintain accurate electronic medical records documentation
  • Serve a growing -to- high-volume program; engage and collaborate closely with school health office nurses and with fellow team providers
  • Build rapport with patients and exude a compassionate and caring demeanor
  • Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement, care improvement initiatives and programmatic growth
  • Adhere to HIPAA and FERPA standards for information security, privacy and confidentiality

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a Licensed MD, DO
  • DEA registered
  • In depth knowledge and assessment experience in pediatric/adolescent outpatient primary or urgent care
  • Strong clinical interview skills, excellent observational skills, detail oriented
  • Personable, with strong communication skills, especially spoken English language
  • Ability to maintain composure, be a keen observer, and make sound clinical judgments in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to seek appropriate consultation and team support when necessary
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving landscape
  • Work remotely from any US location
  • Be available for synchronous and asynchronous remote training prior to and during initiation of full work schedule
  • Comfort working with a diverse population
  • Some experience working in settings such as schools, camps, community programs is desirable
  • Comfort with general computer skills, basic word processing, video conferencing, electronic queue systems, mobile technology devices; willing to learn new and basic technologies and applications
