Seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Pediatric Intensivist to join our growing practice at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC near Myrtle Beach. McLeod Regional Medical Center is a 461-Bed facility that is voted one of America's Best Hospitals by US News & World Report.

Job Description:
  • Desired start date is no later than January 1, 2025.
  • Reason for opening: Attrition
  • Schedule includes 7 days on, 7 days off. Possibly flexible according to the arrangement between the Medical Director and Staff Physician. Shifts consist of 24-hour rounding plus call from home. Call will be shared with another Intensivist.
  • 7.6 shifts per month is full-time, 5.5 shifts per month minimum for benefit-eligible.
  • Practice setting includes inpatient care and rounds.

  • Facility designation: Level III Trauma Center.
  • Responsible for providing coverage to a 6-bed PICU
  • Admissions and patient management
  • Consultation with families and referring physicians
  • Working with local physicians/facilities on successfully accepting transfers into the hospital/unit
  • Documentation system/EMR details to be discussed with the Medical Director.
  • Can interview candidates in their last year of Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship. Must pass Pediatric Critical Care Boards within 5 years of graduation.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
  • Board Certified in Pediatrics
  • TRULY Board Eligible (new grads/those in last year of fellowship working to become BC within 5 years) or Board Certified in Pediatric Critical Care
  • Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship (to be completed prior to start)
  • SC License (or willing to obtain)
  • PALS, ATLS (or willing to obtain)
  • DEA (or able to obtain)
  • Clean malpractice and license record - PREFERRED
