Southern Pediatrics is recruiting a pediatrician to be a physician in an established clinic in Thompson Station, TN. This is a unique opportunity to join one of the longest-standing and highest-quality pediatric clinics in this community and be a part of an innovative pediatric care company focused on a mission-driven approach to transforming pediatrics.
This is a special opportunity to provide care in a pediatric clinic with an established group known for clinical excellence. Due to the growing patient demand within Thompson Station, Spring Hill, and the surrounding areas, we are looking to meet those community needs with a new physician who is wanting a long-term opportunity. This clinic is currently served by multiple providers, and this new physician will be supported with a leading clinical, operational, and management team. Job Responsibilities
- Conducting regular and thorough examinations of both sick and well children according to the accepted standards of care
- Reaching an informed diagnosis based on scientific knowledge and individual medical history
- Providing appropriate and high-quality care including prescribing medications, ordering lab tests, preparing and administering vaccines, referring patients to physicians of other disciplines when necessary, advising parents on children’s disease preventative measures, among others
- Keeping updated medical records on patients’ illnesses, surgeries, or other medical episodes
- Compassionately treating and caring for patients including actively listening and effectively communicating with both parents and children
The pediatrician will also have other responsibilities to support and promote our mission:
- As clinically appropriate for his or her patients, engaging with additional services (e.g., mental health) that are available within the group
- Engaging with the local community around relationship-building and marketing activities to maintain the clinic’s outstanding reputation
- Working as needed with the local hospital to ensure appropriate transfer of care for newborns
- Serving as a cultural leader within the clinic and communicating effectively with other staff
- Partnering with management to help grow the clinic in an effort to add other support (mid-level provider) over time
Qualifications
- Clinical: candidate must have a M.D. or D.O. degree, be willing to receive a Tennessee Medical License, successfully completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) approved post-graduate residency, or equivalent in Pediatrics, hold a current Board Certification appropriate for degree or be Board eligible and certified within five years of employment, and meets all requirements in order to obtain medical staff membership and required privileges.
