Pediatric Hospitalist opening in Columbus, IN 45 miles to Indianapolis, IN Full-Time & Permanent Position Highlights: Location: Columbus, Indiana Schedule: Full-time, working 182 shifts per year. Average of seven or eight 10-hour day shifts and seven or eight 14-hour night shifts per month, with a flexible 7 on/7 off rotation. Requirements: Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatrics, NRP, and PALS certification required. About the Position: Team Composition: Join a collaborative team of three full-time pediatric hospitalists and a nurse practitioner, rounding on normal newborns and pediatric inpatients. Responsibilities: Provide care for pediatric inpatients, Level II nursery, and newborns. Conduct emergency department consultations. Attend high-risk deliveries and perform neonatal resuscitations as needed. Maintain in-house presence with call room availability. Utilize EPIC EMR for patient documentation and care coordination. Average births per year: 1,300. Level II nursery care involves patients with CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, IV fluids, tube feedings, and antibiotics. Compensation and Benefits: Compensation Structure: Tier 1: $105/hour or $1,260 per 12-hour shift (0-2 years of experience). Tier 2: $113.40/hour or $1,360.80 per 12-hour shift (2-4 years of experience). Tier 3: $122.47/hour or $1,469.64 per 12-hour shift (more than 4 years of experience). Extra shifts compensated at $175/hour. Incentives: $100,000 recruitment incentive with a 5-year commitment. Annual quality incentive up to $20,000. Additional Benefits: CME allowance: $4,000 annually (additional $1,000 for each additional board certification, up to $8,000/year). Provider Paid Time Off (PPTO): 1 full week per year, with the option to roll forward unused days. Comprehensive benefits including malpractice insurance and retirement options. Additional Information: Work Environment: Office located on the newborn unit with an overnight bed available when on call. Pediatric unit features 6 rooms, expandable with double beds if needed. Patient Care: Average of 1-3 patients in the pediatric unit during regular seasons; increases to 4-6 during busy periods. Handles approximately 3-5 emergency room consultations weekly.
