THE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA DEPARTMENT OF UROLOGY seeks to recruit a urologist specializing in Pediatric Urology. Appointment rank may be at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level and to either the tenure track or clinical (non-tenure) track consistent with clinical experience and research interest.
The University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital pediatric urology service is staffed by Iowa’s only team of board-certified pediatric urologists. We are ranked among the nation’s top 50 programs by U.S. News & World Report, with a long history of advancing the field of pediatric urology through innovative patient care and forward-looking research. Our pediatric urology team serves patients at our main Iowa City campus as well as at outreach locations in Des Moines, Cedar Falls, Bettendorf, and Dubuque.
Established in 1919, University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital is Iowa’s only comprehensive children’s hospital. Our state-of-the-art, 205-bed main facility in Iowa City, opened in 2017 and built using a patient- and family-centered design, includes eight operating rooms, six procedure suites, and Iowa’s only Level 4 NICU. Our team of more than 200 pediatric physicians and dentists and more than 100 advanced practice providers serves over 100,000 patients each year at our main Iowa City location and at four outreach locations around the state. As part of UI Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa’s only comprehensive academic medical center, we perform groundbreaking research while training the next generation of pediatric healthcare professionals. Qualifications
MD/DO or equivalent degree
Completion of an accredited urology residency program
Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Urology
License or eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Iowa
Prior teaching experience is desired
Fellowship training in a preferred sub-specialty is desired
Tenure track candidates must demonstrate research experience with evidence of scholarly productivity at the University level
