Job Overview:

Requirements:

  • Credentials: DO or MD, Board Certified or Eligible

Responsibilities:

  • Coverage: 24-hour shifts, 7 AM to 7 AM (Hospital: 7 AM - 5 PM, Call: 5 PM - 7 AM)
  • Duties:
    • Attend high-risk deliveries (including C-sections)
    • Round on nursery, Level II NICU, and pediatric floor patients
    • Supervise circumcisions with residents
    • Triage pediatric calls and attend to decompensating or emergency cases
    • Handle ED consults and transfers as needed
  • Patient Load: Average 6 nursery, 2 Level II NICU, and 2-3 floor patients daily
  • On-Call: 30-minute response time, with an average of 2 admissions per call
  • Work Solo: Yes, no APP/mid-level coverage
  • Travel: Mileage, airfare, lodging, rental car, and fuel covered

Additional Details:

  • EMR: Cerner and Epic
  • Privileges: Full privileges (90 days to credential)
  • Trauma Level: III
  • Weekend Shift: 7 AM Friday to 7 AM Monday, 1 weekend per month required
  • Provider Schedule: 3x 24-hour shifts per month (flexible, including weekends)
  • Average Call Volume: 5-10 outpatient calls (on average)
  • Other Specialties Onsite: ENT, Ortho trauma, Acute Care Surgery

  • Travel Coverage: Mileage, Airfare, Lodging, and Ground Transportation provided.
