Position Overview

  • Setting: Emergency Department, Level I Trauma Center

  • Dates of Coverage: Starting March 2025

  • Reason for Coverage: Providers out on leave

Shift Details

  • Annual ED Volume: 101,692

  • Number of ED Beds: 59

  • Percent Admitted from ED: 12%

  • Fast Track: Yes (staffed by MDs and APPs, handling 40% of total ED volume).

  • Supervision: APPs and Residents

  • Documentation: Epic EMR

  • Call Response Time: 60 minutes

Clinical Details

  • Admissions:

    • Admission orders are written by ED Physicians or Residents.

    • Residents (ARD) manage care orders post-admission.

  • Procedures/Services:

    • Radiology: 24/7 access to CT, MRI, and X-ray.

    • Laboratory: 24-hour availability, certified blood bank.

    • Surgical Services: OR access 24/7, including neuro and orthopedic surgeries.

  • Consultants On-Site:

    • Critical Care Intensivists, Cardiologists, Radiologists, Neurologists, and more.

Credentialing

  • Credentialing Timeline: Minimum 60 days.

Requirements

  • Certifications:

    • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Emergency Medicine (ABPEM) – Required

    • PALS, ATLS, BLS – Required

  • Licensure:

    • Active Ohio License – Required (or willingness to obtain).
