TeamHealth has an excellent opportunity for a pediatric emergency medicine (PEM) physician to help lead our team as assistant facility medical director at St. David's Children's Hospital in Austin, Texas. This Level 4 Trauma Center has 10 ED beds and an annual volume of approximately 29k. This is a separate emergency department, medical-surgical inpatient unit and pediatric intensive care unit for children ages 17 and under. We are staffed with PEM certified physicians, pediatric hospitalists, advanced practice clinicians, intensivists and other specialists specifically trained to care for children. Excellent specialty back up is available, including pediatric surgery, neurology, urology, ENT and gastroenterology to name a few. We also have pediatric radiologists with capability for a multitude of interventional services.

This position offers: W-2 employee status, full comprehensive benefits, monthly director stipend, sign on bonus and competitive compensation with night differential and bonus incentives. Clinicians work 8- and 12-hour shifts, we offer professional liability insurance and tail coverage, candidate referral incentives, and 401K. The qualified candidate will not only be ABEM/ABOEM/ABP certified as well as pediatric emergency fellowship certified or eligible, but also comes with leadership experience.
