- Other Details: The facility, which is stroke-certified, trauma level 2, and PEDs level 2 is looking for a provider to cover on-site clinical hours and beeper call if needed. The facility are seeking coverage for a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center due to clinic acquisitions and a need to maintain previous patient volumes. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with a 1:4 call schedule and a 25% call-back rate. Physicians will see 8-10 patients per day, with Epic as the EMR system. The locum will work alongside two other MDs, other locum physicians, and support staff, including sonographers, medical assistants, LPNs, and RNs. Board certification is required, along with BLS certification. The scope of practice includes a range of pediatric and neonatal procedures, such as non-invasive and invasive ventilation management, intubation (ETT/NT) for newborns and pediatrics, conscious and deep sedation, central and arterial lines, UVC, UAC, lumbar punctures, paracentesis, thoracentesis, chest tube insertion, needle pneumothorax decompression, X-ray and EKG interpretation, PA catheter management, exchange transfusion, suturing minor lacerations, circumcision, and swallow studies. There will be no separate days for inpatient and outpatient care, and while the interventional locum will not perform electives or STEMI procedures, they will manage general cases during night calls.
