Pediatric Cardiac Imaging
The Heart Center at Driscoll Children’s Hospital is seeking to add a cardiologist with advanced training in imaging to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team of pediatric care providers in the development of a formal echocardiography laboratory. Driscoll Children’s Hospital is advancing a comprehensive Heart Center to meet the healthcare needs of congenital heart patients in South Texas. Experience or advanced training in diagnostic fetal imaging is necessary; experience in a laboratory is preferred. Sub-specialty board eligible and/or certification are required.
Pediatric Cardiology has been an integral part of Driscoll Children’s Hospital since 1962. The Hospital and the Heart Center are committed to bringing state-of-the-art technology and quality service to 31 counties in South Texas. In 2017, the Heart Center had 9,479 outpatient and satellite visits, and performed more than 10,000 echocardiograms (140 TEEs and 1053 Fetals), more than 6000 EKGs, and more than 200 Cardiac Catheterizations (73% interventional). Driscoll Children’s Hospital has two pediatric cardio-thoracic surgeons who deliver all aspects of surgical service including hybrid procedures.
