Cooperative Health desires to add mission-minded compassionate Pediatric Physicians interested in collaborating to provide full-time / part-time pediatric medical care delivered at well-established rural and urban pediatric, multi-specialty, and walk-in practices.
Cooperative Health’s Primary Care Pediatricians provide the full scope of pediatrics from newborn through adolescents and young adult care. Pediatricians work within an office based PCMH care team model. In-office Behavioral Health and Social Services teams are available for additional support.
Called to action in the Spirit of the Good Samaritan, Cooperative Health Pediatricians serve as a safety net provider. Delivering care to children and their families from all walks of life with dignity and respect. Cooperative Health Pediatricians are returning the HEART to medicine – Bringing Humanity Back to Healthcare allowing today’s children to experience their clinicians as a partner to their success. Job Responsibilities
o Conducting regular thorough examinations on newborns and children to check and record their
health and physical development.
o Prescribing medications and give detailed instructions for administration.
o Referring patients to physicians of other disciplines when necessary.
o Providing advisement to parents/guardians on children’s diet, exercise and other disease preventive measures.
· Efficiently documenting the care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
· Providing appropriate billing information based upon the care and service deliverd
· Sign off all encounter notes and documentation at the end of the visit but no later than 72-hours from the time of the visit.
· Serve as the lead to the clinical care team
· Engage in a daily opening day and end of day huddle with care team
· Work in collaboration with all office based and Pediatric Division team members
· Work with patients, families, and the care team to achieve exceptional outcomes for pediatric oriented quality measures.
· Work with the care team to achieve or exceed access to care (productivity) goals
· Staying abreast of advancements and best practices in pediatrics
Qualifications
· Board Eligible in General Pediatrics.
· Candidate must possess or able to obtain a valid South Carolina medical license.
· DEA and Controlled Substance Registration.
· BLS, ACLS, PALS or NALS certified
Working Hours
· Periodic early evening hours
· Weeknight telephone call
· Weekend newborn nursery rounds

· Excellent written and verbal communication and problem solving skills.
· Ability to communicate with people from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
· Ability to prioritize, organize and carry out work assignments independently and efficiently.
· Ability to maintain appropriate degree of confidentiality.
· Proficient in use of electronic medical records – Athena – company EMR
· Excellent keyboarding ability
