Dates of Coverage:
  • One week per month
Schedule & Shifts:
  • Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Weekend/Night call coverage (Call Ratio: 1:2)
Practice Setting:
  • Hospital-based
Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Lab: Blood bank and hematology, focusing on resolving difficult antibodies and reviewing blood smears.
  • Supervision: The locum will supervise histotechnologists, pathology assistants, and cytotechnologists.
  • Procedures: Includes surgical pathology, GI pathology, GU pathology, dermatopathology, cytology, and autopsy. The provider must also attend fine needle aspiration procedures and give immediate adequacy statements.
Additional Details:
  • No grossing of specimens or cutting of frozen sections is required.

Required Qualifications:
  • Board Certification in Pathology (required)
  • IA License (or willingness to obtain)
  • APCP Board Certification (required)
