Facility in Dubuque, IA seeking Pathology locums coverage

Rates: $260/hr

Position Details

• Schedule:

  • Coverage Dates: One week per month.

  • Shift Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

  • Call Schedule: Nights and weekends, 1:2 ratio.

• Practice Setting:

  • Hospital-based pathology practice.

• Reason for Coverage:

  • High patient volume with current provider requiring time off.

Responsibilities

• Anatomic Pathology Procedures:

  • Surgical Pathology

  • GI Pathology

  • GU Pathology

  • Dermatopathology

  • Cytology

  • Autopsy

• Clinical Pathology Procedures:

  • Hematology

  • Microbiology

  • Chemistry/Serology

  • Blood Bank

• Additional Duties:

  • Provide immediate adequacy statements for fine needle aspirations.

  • Supervise healthcare providers in the laboratory.

  • Conduct clinical lab reviews, including blood bank and hematology cases.

• Case Volume:

  • Approximately 40 surgical/cytology cases per day.

Support Staff and Equipment

• Team:

  • 1.5 physicians

  • 4 histotechnologists

  • 1 pathology assistant

  • 2 cytotechnologists

• Equipment:

  • Cryostat: Leica

  • Microscope: Olympus

• EMR: CoPath

Requirements

• Certifications:

  • Board Certified – Required

  • APCP Boards – Required

  • Cytology proficiency not required for GYN Cytology.

• Licensure:

  • Active Iowa State License or willingness to obtain – Required

• Experience:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in required procedures.
