Seeking Physician (Pathologist)

Come join the mission of taking care of our nation heroes! The Salisbury VA Health Care System Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service (P&LMS) is looking for a highly motivated Pathologist who is AP/CP Board-Certified. Applicants should have a strong background and recent experience in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.

Duties

Clinical Pathology:

- Supervise and interpret activities related to: Blood Bank, Clinical Chemistry, Special Chemistry & Toxicology, Microbiology, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Serology, and Flow Cytometry

Medical Conferences:

- Give presentations at Surgical M&M, Thoracic, General Surgery, Breast Tumor Board, and other conferences as requested

Professional Interaction:

- Regularly communicate with physicians, nurses, administrators, technologists, and patients

Availability:

- Available 24/7 through beeper and phone, with occasional on-call duties at the hospital

Requirements:

  • Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
  • U.S. citizenship: non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA policy.
  • Have a full, unrestricted medical license in any state.

Compensation & Benefit Package:

  • Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases.
  • Paid Time Off: 50 55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME).
  • Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA.
