New Pathology Locums Job in Georgia
Our client in Georgia is seeking a Hematopathologist or a surgical Pathologist to cover a 3-month assignment. Please review details below and reach out to Shannon to be considered. The client would ideally like someone full time, but open to considering your availability (2 weeks per month at least preferably).
Details/Requirements for Assignment #103678:
- Must have active GA license and Board Certification to be considered
- Hospital is losing a physician - their caseload is about 4,000 specimens annually
- Hematopathology: the bone marrows are Tuesday-Thursday averaging 2-8 per day. Will have occasional tissue cases or cases that have flow cytometry ordered. Peripheral blood smear reviews up to 10 per week on average.
- Surgical pathology: 25-30 cases, mixture of biopsies and large cases including breast, gyn and GI. 1-3 non GYN cytology cases (pleural fluids, ascetic fluids etc.) Intraoperative consultations includes multiple part endoscopic and bronchoscopic procedures (up to 3 depending on the day) and frozen sections (2-5 depending on the day.
- No autopsies
- Interventional Radiology does the actual bone marrow procedure, the Pathologist reads the bone marrow case
- Will work with two other Pathologists at the hospital
- There is a PA on site whole handles grossing
