Responsibilities

o Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm
- Call alternate weekly, start Friday at 5pm, finish next Friday 8am
o Cases/Procedures:
- Approximately 35-50 cases read per day.
- Grossing own specimens
- Cut own frozen sections on Cryostat
- Procedures: hematology, microbiology, chemistry/serology, blood bank
- Need to be able to handle GI biopsies, breast biopsies and neuropathology in particular.
- Neurosurgical cases are the most frequent frozen section requests both during the daytime and after hours on call.
- Anatomic Pathology Procedures: Surgical, GI pathology, GU pathology, Neuropathology, Dermatopathology, Hematopathology, Cytology
- _"_our lab receives an average of 30 to 40 cases every day, which are mixed biopsies and routine surgical specimens. The two pathologists will alternate on a daily basis, on the day when you are working up the biopsied and surgical specimens, the other pathologist is doing cytology cases, frozen sections, procedures on site evaluation (ultrasound, CT, EUS, Broncoscopy et al), and grossing surgical specimen, transfusion reaction work up, blood smears review and so on…"
o Clinical support:
- 1 full time pathologist in addition to locum
- Current pathologist works in tandem with locum
- Histotechnologists
o EMR and Dictation Tools:
- NovoPath
- Allscripts Sunrise
o Required experience, training, and certifications:
- Experience preferred
- AP/CP certified pathologist
o Case Logs:
- Yes
o Consider IMLC or waiting for a license:
- Will consider IMLC
o Credentialing Timeframe:
- Typically 30 days

Qualifications
Experience preferred
AP/CP certified pathologist
Working Hours
Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm
Call alternate weekly, start Friday at 5pm, finish next Friday 8am
