I am working with Ascension St Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, MI and they are looking for some temporary Pathology coverage over the next several months. Level 2 Trauma Center
This facility needs coverage ASAP-Ongoing
Schedule: M-F (8a-5p) + night call each night
Weekend call: Sat-Sun (24 hour call)
Call Ratio: 1:2 (every other week)
Minimum length of acceptance: Two weeks per month
Inpatient only
CLIA certified Lab
Case Load: 35-50 reads a day (split by 2 docs)
Required Anatomic Pathology Procedures: Surgical Pathology, GI Pathology, GU Pathology, Neuropathology, Dermatopathology, Hematopathology (Bone Marrow, Lymph Nodes) Interpretation of Bone Marrow Aspirate/bx, Cytology, Autopsy
Required Clinical Pathology Procedures: Hematology, Microbiology, Chemistry/Serology, Blood Bank
No GYN cases
Method of preparation: Cytospin
Responsible for grossing own specimen
Responsible for cutting own frozen sections on the Cytostat
Physicians in group: Usually 2, but down to 1
Technicians in group: 4
Cryostat Type: Thermo Shandon
Microscope type: Nikon
60 days to privilege (Emergency privileging available within 30 days)
