Academic Pathology opening in Texas_x000D_ Located in Tyler, TX_x000D_ Full-Time & Permanent_x000D_ Non-Tenure_x000D_ _x000D_ Seeking a BE/BC Pathologist to join group._x000D_ _x000D_ The ideal candidate will have a history of teaching excellence in medical education and the leadership skills to serve as core faculty in integrated courses in our medical school curriculum. The selected candidate will provide instruction in basic science/foundational courses across multiple disciplines including Pathology, Histology, Pathophysiology, Physiology and Cell Biology, and serve as facilitator for small group discussion in case-based learning, problem-based learning, and other small group sessions._x000D_ _x000D_ The incoming faculty member will also collaborate with other basic science faculty to assist in developing clinical cases to accompany foundational learning._x000D_ _x000D_ Details:_x000D_ _x000D_ - 100% academic- no clinical duties_x000D_ - Develop the goals, learning objectives, prework assignments, pre- and post-test assessment questions, and any supplemental materials_x000D_ - Assist in developing cases for the case-based curriculum._x000D_ - Run large group interactive sessions and facilitate case-based learning sessions 3 mornings per week (M/ W/ F) during year 1 and 3 half-days per week during year 2 (2 afternoons, 1 morning), as assigned._x000D_ - Participate in the clinical correlations and illustrate where there is horizontal and vertical integration of the basic science materials._x000D_ - Provide support, guidance, and mentoring to each student during their clerkship year, as needed._x000D_ - Mentor students, Review and edit students personal statements, as requested; write letter of support for residency application, as requested._x000D_ - Prepare for, attend, and participate in monthly faculty meetings._x000D_ - Work on projects within at least one working group, such as OSCE case development; case-based learning; communication skills; write-up, oral case presentation and clinical reasoning; professionalism and ethics; mentoring; feedback and evaluation._x000D_ - Participate in and facilitate faculty development sessions and retreats (which occur periodically throughout the year), as needed._x000D_ _x000D_ Requirement: _x000D_ _x000D_ Three (3) years of relevant teaching experience in medical education, and prior experience teaching in a medical school curriculum is highly desirable._x000D_ _x000D_ Location:_x000D_ _x000D_ - Population of over 100,000 (233,00 in the Tyler metropolitan area)_x000D_ - Fastest growing area in Texas_x000D_ - Outstanding area public and private schools_x000D_ - Small-town comforts with easy proximity to metropolitan cities_x000D_ - A family-oriented lifestyle_x000D_ - Affordable housing and low cost of living_x000D_ - Various lifestyle choices lakefront, historical homes, modern, rural_x000D_ - No State Income Tax
