The Department of Pathology is currently recruiting for a full-time BC/BE Clinical pathologist with American Board of Pathology certification to be Director of Clinical Pathology. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.

The clinical laboratories of the health system perform over 3 million tests/year, The transfusion medicine section is accredited by the AABB and College of American Pathologists (CAP). Approximately 10,000 units of pRBC are transfused yearly and this division supports Massive Transfusion Protocols (MTPs). This area is also responsible to provide transfusion consultation services for high-risk surgeries and ob-gyn operations. There is a large Sickle Cell patient population that is followed at the sickle cell clinic.

Molecular/next generation sequencing, immunohistochemistry, FISH, and electron microscopy laboratories are part of the sophisticated menu of tests available. The Department has a combined residency training program in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with 12 residents and fellowship training programs.

The best candidate will be able to provide clinical services in other areas of clinical and/or anatomic pathology.
