Interventional Pain Management Physician Valley Stream NY (Long Island)
Part time or Full time

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated Interventional Pain Management Physician to join our practice full time or part time in Valley Stream and Bellerose NY. The incoming physician will be examining patients and diagnosing pain because of an injury, disease, or a disabling condition. The physician will then be determining and implementing appropriate treatment plans for patients and recommending and undertaking various medical procedures. The incoming physician will be splitting coverage between the offices in Bellerose and Valley Stream, which are less than 20 minutes (6 miles) apart. We need a highly productive, interventional pain physician to evaluate and perform pain and spinal procedures, NOT medication management. We have a C-Arm in one of the locations so some procedures can be done within office, others would be done at a local Surgical Center.

Duties:
  • Patient consultations- Examining patients, review medical history and results/imaging studies
  • Diagnosing pain because of an injury, disease, or a disabling condition.
  • Determining and implementing appropriate treatment plans for patients.
  • Recommending and undertaking various medical- interventional pain procedures
  • Lead a team of medical professionals, which may include physical therapists and occupational therapists, to optimize patient care.
  • Monitoring ongoing progress and health of patients, and changing treatment plans, as necessary.
  • Providing adaptive tools to improve the overall health and physical functioning of patients.
  • Counseling patients and their families and helping them adapt to lifestyle changes.
  • Providing support and advice to patients receiving long-term care.
  • Conducts periodic re-evaluations of each patient to determine progress and indication for change or discontinuance of treatment.
  • Prescribes appropriate prosthetic and orthotic devices as indicated. Checks for proper fitting of such devices.
  • Keeps complete medical records of all services provided and the patients’ progress.
  • Interacts with community-based referral sources, i.e. physicians, social workers, rehabilitation nurses, insurance companies, DVR counselors, etc., to facilitate patient care and patient referrals
Requirements:
  1. Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  2. Fellowship training in Interventional Pain Management preferred.
  3. Board certification or board eligibility in Pain Medicine (American Board of Anesthesiology, American Board of Pain Medicine, or similar).
  4. Valid New York State medical license.
  • NY Work Comp Authorization number a plus
  • Experience treating No Fault, Work Compensation and personal injury patients a plus.
  • Must be willing to provide care at both locations
Schedule:
  • Full time or Part time
Salary:
  • Full time $300,000 to $350,000 + productivity bonus
  • Part time $250-300 hour + productivity bonus
