Exciting Pain Management Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (FLOAT) Opportunity in Northwest Arizona!

The Pain Management Physician Associate (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant) will deliver healthcare services to patients under the guidance of a physician.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient examinations, gather medical history, record results, and make preliminary diagnoses or determine follow-up procedures.
  • Administer and order diagnostic tests, interpret results, and perform therapeutic procedures such as immunizations, injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
  • Exercise professional judgment regarding consultations with supervising physicians for appropriate treatment.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, provide instruction and counseling to patients, and maintain comprehensive progress records.
  • Prescribe medications within the limits of state guidelines and clinic regulations.
  • Offer general health education on topics such as proper diet, family planning, emotional well-being, and health maintenance.
  • Assist physicians with emergency treatments and more complex procedures.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated competency in dealing with adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of a four-year physician assistant baccalaureate program and a year of clinical training, or;
  • Completion of a two-year accredited physician assistant program (which requires two years of undergraduate study) plus two years of clinical training following completion of the PA program.
  • State accreditation based on certifying exam.
  • Pain Management Experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
  • Frequent exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and patient body fluids.
