Centurion is proud to be the provider of healthcare services to the Pennsylvania State Hospital System.
We are currently seeking a full-time Primary Care Physician to join our team at Clark Summit State Hospital located in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. Clarks Summit is located about 30 miles north of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
Available Shift
Monday - Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm with 30 minute unpaid lunch
Responsibilities
The Primary Care Physician provides medical care and treatment to patients in designated areas, as well as all related duties, to ensure access to care and patient safety at all times.

Performs Admission Physical & Neurological Exam and Medical/Surgical History on all new admissions within 24 hours of admission, reviews all records from community hospitals and previous hospitalizations, and formulates medical diagnosis, treatment goals and plans of all individual patients.

Performs monthly review of each patient’s medication profile, in conjunction with the attending psychiatrist. Performs a medical exam on each patient, documents findings accordingly in the progress notes, reviews and updates the Medical Treatment plan at that time.

Renders medical treatment to all patients in designated areas and makes rounds on a daily basis, ordering labs, x-rays and other diagnostic studies and consultations as necessary. Reviews results of studies, reports, consultations and follow-up care where indicated.

Provides annual physical and neurological examinations and summary of previous year’s medical illnesses and treatment for all patients in designated areas within 30 days of the anniversary of their admission date and prior to their annual ICTP.

Participates in the on-campus evening, weekend, and holiday on-call responsibility as needed.

Ensures the attending psychiatrist and Treatment Team are aware of patients with medical illnesses and current treatment orders.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

The medical physician must have completed a residency program in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, which meets the requirements of the American Board of Medicine or American Osteopathic Board of Medicine.

The physician must possess a current Pennsylvania medical license, DEA registration, and Basic Life Support Certificate.
