Psychiatrist - Fairfield, CT

Shift: Days

Facility : SNF

Job Summary & Responsibilities:

  • Role may require liaison with facility Directors to align our team with their initiatives.

  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Evaluating residents for psychiatric conditions such as depression, anxiety, dementia, or psychosis.

  • Medication Management: Prescribing and adjusting psychotropic medications, ensuring they align with other treatments and medications.

  • Therapeutic Interventions: Providing psychotherapy or coordinating with therapists for emotional and behavioral health needs.

  • Care Coordination: Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including primary care doctors, nurses, and social workers, to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.

  • Crisis Intervention: Addressing acute psychiatric symptoms, such as agitation or confusion, ensuring resident safety and well-being.

  • A strong understanding of policies, procedures, and regulatory State statutes of SNF's is a plus, along with experience related to compliance of coding, billing, prescribing, documentation and conduct.

Education, Licensure, and Experience:

  • Completion of a medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited medical school.

  • Board certified

  • DEA license is required to prescribe controlled substances in Connecticut.

  • 3 years' experience in the skilled nursing facility space
