J Edward Staffing is seeking a skilled and compassionate Optometrist to join the healthcare team at a military hospital located in Kittery, ME. Job Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat visual issues such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia.
Prescribe corrective lenses, including glasses and contact lenses.
Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgery.
Diagnose and manage ocular diseases and conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and retinal disorders.
Educate patients on proper eye care, preventive measures, and treatment plans.
Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Maintain accurate and thorough medical records in compliance with hospital and military standards.
Qualifications
• Certifications: BLS and possess a certification to use Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents.
• Education: Graduate from a school or college approved by the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE) of the American Optometric Association.
• Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the preceding three (3) years as an Optometrist. Experience must include post-operative refractive surgery to include familiarity with Excimer laser, photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) and Laser-Assisted in situ Keratomileusis (LASIK), patient selection, and co-management of refractive surgery patients.
• Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as an optometrist.
