Searching for a Primary Care Provider – an enthusiastic and adaptable family medicine provider or internist – who feels at ease working in an inpatient psychiatric environment.
Working collaboratively with various disciplines, you will play a pivotal role in advocating for the physical and medical needs of our patients. This involves delivering treatment to a diverse adult patient population, including individuals with forensic, geriatric, and disability-related challenges. Your focus will be on fostering patient relationships and delivering patient-centered medical care, with the ultimate goal of facilitating a healthy transition back into the community for residents.
Role Responsibilities:
- Directly oversee, evaluate, and administer primary medical assessments, diagnoses, and treatments, including prescribing necessary medications.
- Conduct admission and physical examinations, and interpret laboratory tests.
- Provide preventive maintenance care and devise treatment plans.
- Review medical histories, diagnostic tests, medication regimens, and clinical diagnostic procedures.
- Conduct daily rounds, assess and manage the onset of new medical issues.
- Implement health prevention guidelines and coordinate referrals to specialized consultants within the team.
- Perform minor surgical procedures, respond to emergency medical situations, and participate in mortality and morbidity reviews.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid license to practice medicine and surgery in the State of Washington or ability to obtain one.
- Eligibility for certification from an American Board of Medical Specialties accredited program.
- Prior experience in a mental health setting is desirable.
