We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible orthopedic surgeon to join our team as a Locum Tenens provider. The role involves both inpatient and outpatient orthopedic care, including surgical procedures and fracture management. The provider will work closely with a dedicated clinical team to deliver high-quality care to patients in our Level 4 Trauma Center.
  • Perform general orthopedic procedures, including total joint replacements, arthroscopies, and fracture repairs.
  • Provide clinical care in an outpatient setting while managing hospital-based surgical cases.
  • Work closely with a team of medical assistants and clinic staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Participate in rounding and post-operative patient management.
  • Provide backup and follow-up care as needed.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff and other specialists for comprehensive patient care.

Job Responsibilities

Perform general orthopedic procedures, including total joint replacements, arthroscopies, and fracture repairs.
Provide clinical care in an outpatient setting while managing hospital-based surgical cases.

Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
Active West Virginia medical license (Physicians without a current WV license will not be considered).
Required Certifications: ABLS, ACLS, BLS (ATLS and PALS not required).
Fellowship training is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience in total joint replacement, arthroscopy, and fracture care.

Working Hours

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
On-call during clinic hours only (no overnight call).
Open to alternate workweek schedules, including 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off or split coverage.
No mid-level support currently available.

Skills

Proficiency in orthopedic surgical procedures, including:
Total joint replacement (hip, knee, shoulder)
Fracture repair
Arthroscopic surgery
Carpal tunnel release
Strong clinical decision-making and diagnostic skills.
Ability to work independently in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
