Responsibilities as the Orthopedic Surgeon (Physician):
- Patient Care and Treatment: Diagnose and treat orthopedic conditions, including injuries to bones, joints, and ligaments, through medical and surgical interventions.
- Surgical Procedures: Perform surgeries to repair or improve function in injured or damaged body parts, such as joints, bones, and ligaments.
- Collaborative Care: Coordinate with physicians, medical staff, and management to develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans.
- Patient Education: Communicate diagnoses, treatment options, and surgical procedures clearly to ensure patient understanding and comfort.
- Documentation and Supervision: Maintain accurate medical records and oversee compliance of Medical Assistants and Physician Assistants with regulations.
- Follow-Up and Professional Growth: Monitor patient recovery, adjust care plans as needed, and stay current with advancements in orthopedic procedures.
- Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) required.
- Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Licensure: Valid New York Medical License.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in orthopedic surgery, including surgical procedures for extremities (arms and legs).
- Specialized Knowledge: Experience with workers’ compensation and no-fault cases preferred.
- Attributes: Open-minded, patient-focused, and collaborative with strong communication skills.
- Preferred: Previous experience with work-related or motor vehicle injuries.
- Additional Requirements: Worker’s Compensation Authorization.
