Job Description: Orthopedic Surgeon Position
Key Highlights:
- Position Type: Full-time, hospital-employed Orthopedic Surgeon.
- Practice Setup:
- Established and well-known orthopedic practice.
- Ample office and patient rooms for a second orthopedic surgeon.
- 4-day workweek: 2 days in the clinic, 2 days in the OR, and 1 day off.
- OR days feature blocked scheduling.
- Clinic hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM with a 1-hour lunch break.
Responsibilities:
- Clinic Workload:
- See 25–30 patients per clinic day.
- OR Schedule:
- Perform 4–5 surgeries per day.
- Cases include scopes, knees, hips, totals, shoulders, feet, ankles, and hands.
- Call Duty:
- 8 on-call days per month.
- Must be within 30 minutes of the hospital while on call.
- ER admits low-acuity patients overnight for surgery the next day.
Patient Population:
- High orthopedic demand from active and aging population.
- Large Hispanic population (Spanish fluency beneficial but not required).
- Pediatric cases referred to Grand Junction or Denver.
Referral Base:
- Robust referral network from clinics and community physicians.
- 3 family practice clinics, 2 internal medicine physicians, 8 family medicine physicians, and 7 advanced practitioners contribute referrals.
Facility and Support:
- Technology:
- Clinic EMR: Athena; Hospital EMR: Meditech.
- Imaging: X-ray capabilities, GE 450 Wide Bore MRI, 2 C-Arms, Zimmer ROSA robot.
- Hospital Resources:
- 24/7 hospitalist, CRNA, and ER physician coverage.
- Strong radiology, nursing, and PT/OT support.
- Excellent consultation availability across specialties.
- Nursing staff provides pre-surgery total joint classes.

- Salary: $526K–$636K
- 2-year guaranteed salary with wRVU bonus starting in year 3.
