SPECIALTY: ORTHOPEDIC-TRAUMA SURGERY

- Weekend call coverage. Friday 7a to Monday 7a (IN HOUSE) 24 Hr. days, 48/Hrs. per week
- Assignment begins December 2024-March 2025.
- Orthopedic Trauma Level II
· Must be comfortable with the evaluation and provisional and/or definitive treatment for acute traumatic injuries commonly seen at Level II trauma centers.
· ED consultations, reductions, splinting/casting, and any indicated operative procedures. Provide orthopedic coverage for in patients with acute musculoskeletal conditions. The definitive surgical treatment of pelvic and/or acetabulum fractures is not expected but provisional stabilization with skeletal traction, external fixation, and/or application of pelvic binders is in scope.
- NO outpatient clinic responsibilities.
- Provide guidance and oversight of orthopaedic trauma APPs who assist with the Orthopaedic Trauma Service and who serve as “first call” for the service.
Requirements:
NC license & DEA, Active and Unrestricted
ACLS, ATLS
BC, Surgery- Orthopaedics, Trauma Fellowship preferred but not required.
Must have experience with the evaluation and treatment of the most common, bread-and-butter musculoskeletal conditions resulting in inpatient consultation.
