Emergency Medicine Physician Opportunity in Roanoke Rapids, NC

We are seeking a Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Emergency Medicine physician or Family/Internal Medicine Physician with Emergency Medicine experience to join the team in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Position Highlights:

  • 26-bed Emergency Department with strong NP and PA support
  • Locked 6-bed psychiatric unit
  • 24-hour hospitalist and radiology coverage
  • Team of 8 physicians and 4 Advanced Practice Providers
  • Comprehensive hospital services: General Surgery, OBGYN, Orthopedics, Primary Care, Oncology, Behavioral Health, Cardiology, Nephrology, Pediatrics
  • Air and ground transfer support to level 1 trauma center
  • Telestroke support and Cardiac Cath Lab

As an Emergency Medicine Physician in this role, you will:

  • Provide comprehensive emergency care in a 26-bed Emergency Department
  • Collaborate with a team of 8 physicians and 4 Advanced Practice Providers
  • Conduct patient consultations, assessments, and emergency treatments
  • Perform and supervise non-invasive emergency procedures
  • Manage and stabilize patients in a locked 6-bed psychiatric unit
  • Work in conjunction with 24-hour hospitalist and radiology coverage
  • Coordinate patient care with various hospital services
  • Utilize air and ground support for patient transfers to a level 1 trauma center
  • Provide telestroke support and manage cases involving the Cardiac Cath Lab
  • Participate in shared call schedule and rotating shifts
  • Engage in continuous professional development and stay current with advancements in emergency medicine

Qualifications:

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine with Emergency Medicine experience
  • Valid medical license to practice in North Carolina (or eligibility to obtain one)
  • Strong clinical skills in emergency medicine
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
