We are seeking an experienced Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to join the only ACS-verified Level II Trauma Center in the region, offering high-acuity cases and state-of-the-art facilities.

Location: Boise, ID

Schedule:

  • July 11 (begin at 5p), 12, 13 until 0700 7/14
  • July 25 (begin at 5p), 26, 27 until 0700 7/28
  • September 5 (begin at 5p), 6, 7 until 0700 9/8
  • November 7 (begin at 5p), 8, 9 until 0700 11/10

Shift details:

  • Friday - Call: 5:00pm - 12:00am **Call back after 1 hr gratis
  • Saturday surgical day: 8:00am - 1:00pm (Surgery Priority Based after 1pm)
  • Saturday Call : 12:00am-12:00am **Call back after 4 hrs gratis
  • Sunday surgical day: 8:00am - 1:00pm (Surgery Priority Based after 1pm)
  • Sunday Call: 12:00am-12:00am Monday - Call: 12:00am – 7am **Call back after 4 hrs gratis
  • Monday - Call: 12:00am – 7am ****Call back after 1 hr gratis

Work Details:

  • You will be working alongside three other fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeons.
  • The average caseload per block is 3-5 cases, including all types of orthopedic trauma, such as upper extremity, lower extremity, periarticular fractures, and pelvic/acetabular fractures.
  • EMR system used: EPIC.
  • The hospital has 378 beds, and the trauma center is fully equipped to handle a broad range of orthopedic trauma cases.
  • Trauma call experience and knowledge of treating periarticular and pelvic/acetabular fractures are required.

Requirements:

  • Board Certification: American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS) or American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery (AOBOS).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience post-fellowship.
  • Trauma Fellowship required
  • Must have the ability to take trauma call and treat all types of orthopedic trauma (excluding joint replacements, sports injuries, diabetic foot, and hand/wrist cases).

Additional Information:

  • Credentialing timeframe: 60-90 days.
  • Travel expenses (flights, rental car, lodging) will be fully reimbursed for full-time locums.
