Hi there! This is Jason from ProTouch Medical.

We have a client in Central Michigan in search of a Locum Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon for ongoing coverage from April - July of 2025.

I take care of 1099 competitive pay and malpractice insurance for the assignment.


Location: Central Michigan
Job Type: Locum-to-Perm / Contract w/ conversion
Duration of Assignment: 04/07/2025 - 07/28/2025
Shifts: 24-hr call coverage when on service at a Level I trauma center

Practice Details:

  • Reason for Coverage: Provider FMLA
  • Practice Setting: Hospital coverage with ambulatory follow-up as needed
  • In house while performing surgery and rounding. Generally 8 hours per day. Unrestricted call for time thereafter.
  • Schedule: Two 24 on call hour shifts, with call back hours, and the third day 8 hours on site for cleanup from the two on call shifts.
  • Level I trauma center
  • Call Schedule: Call coverage when on service
  • Call Ratio: 1:4 call rotation for department
  • Average Number of Surgical Cases Per Day HOSPITAL: 3-4
  • Average Number of Patients Per Day OFFICE/CLINIC: n/a
  • Documentation System/EMR: EPIC
  • Number of Operating Rooms: 20
  • Number of Orthopedic Surgeons in Practice: 14
  • Description of OR Staff: standard OR support to include APP first assist

Practice Types/Settings Required:

  • Orthopedic Surgical Cases - TRAUMA, Orthopedic Surgical Cases ADULT, Orthopedic Surgical Cases PEDIATRIC, Orthopedic Surgical Cases GERIATRIC, Hospital, Office/Clinic
  • General Orthopedics - (treatment of fractures, dislocations, amputations, deformities, and tumors of bones and joints): Surgical, Non-Surgical
  • Additional Procedures Required or Preferred - All trauma presentations to include pelvis, acetabular, and supracondylar humerus fractures. Pelvis and acetabular are required procedures.

  • Trauma fellowship not required if demonstrated case competency for all fracture care, though fellowship completion highly preferred
