Managing Dentist Opportunity in Southeast Alaska Position: Managing Dentist Location: Southeast Alaska Setting: Dental Clinic Opportunity Highlights: Provide overall administrative and clinical leadership for one of our Dental clinics Supervise and support dentists, hygienists, dental therapists, and other dental staff Oversee daily clinic operations, including scheduling, patient flow, and front desk functions Collaborate with visiting providers to ensure high-quality patient care Engage in strategic planning and performance metrics to enhance clinic operations Provide direct patient care, including village/field travel Responsibilities: Administrative Leadership: - Supervise all clinic staff, resolve concerns, and conduct performance reviews - Manage front desk operations, staff scheduling, and patient registration processes - Oversee facility needs, IT tickets, vendor relations, and infrastructure requests - Lead staff meetings and collaborate with senior leadership on training and development Clinical Supervision: - Guide and support dental professionals in delivering high-quality care - Monitor compliance with infection control, accreditation, and risk management principles - Participate in recruitment and retention efforts for qualified staff Patient Care: - Provide dental services for patients of all ages, including infants, children, adults, and geriatrics - Travel to field clinics as needed to serve rural communities Requirements: Education: DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school Licensure: Active U.S. dental license (Alaska license preferred within 2 years) Certifications: BLS/CPR or higher Experience: - Minimum 5 years of experience as a dentist - 2+ years of management experience preferred - Experience in tribal practice preferred Skills & Abilities: Strong leadership, mentorship, and supervisory skills Clinical expertise and sound judgment in dental care Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to manage clinic operations and foster teamwork Proficiency in healthcare administration, scheduling, and revenue cycle processes Additional Details: Benefits: Generous benefits package, including retirement, PTO, parental leave, health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability coverage Professional Growth: Leadership role with opportunities for strategic planning and program development Community Impact: Serve and support the health of Southeast Alaska residents This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a dental team while providing exceptional care to communities in Southeast Alaska.
